Indy’s Goldens is a family based in-home breeder. We combine a proven modern protocol and advanced technology to achieve impeccable results in puppies with Championship pedigrees.
Almost 20 years ago we rescued a retriever puppy and fell in love with the breed. Now, we have been breeding Light Golden or English Cream retrievers for almost 7 years.
We started our business in our hometown, McKinney, Texas but had to relocate to Southwest Arkansas a few years ago. However, we are less than a 3 hour drive from DFW and remain the regions breeder source for registered AKC Light Golden (English Cream) Retrievers. The only color and breed we produce is Light Golden Retrievers.
Our operation is not and never will be a large kennel. We raise the puppies in our home, so we only have a couple of litters per year. The adult dogs are our loving pets, not just breeding stock. Breeding healthy, happy dogs takes a lot of time, energy and love. But we are committed to our part in ensuring our retrievers produce the healthiest, least genetically flawed puppies possible. Our Dame’s and their Hand-Picked Sire’s both have International/National Championship bloodlines and are genetically cleared pure-bred Retrievers. It is our belief that our Dames and Sires must have a minimum 5 generational gap between themselves or any dog in their pedigree line. However, the AKC requires a minimum of just two years.
It took us more than a year of searching to find the Sire’s with the genetic make-up and pedigree that paired just right with each of our Dame’s. As a result, our puppies are among the best pure-bred, genetically tested English Cream or Light Golden Retrievers available.
In The United States of America, the American Kennel Club (AKC) does not recognize (English Cream) Retrievers as a color or breed, regardless of a dog’s national origin or the origin of their bloodline. In order for a pure-bred Light or cream colored Golden Retriever to be registered with the AKC, the dog must be classified as one of the AKC’s three official color designations for Golden Retrievers.
Currently the only three AKC color designations for Golden Retrievers are; Dark Golden (Reg. Code 080), Golden (Reg. Code 093) and Light Golden (Reg. Code 119).
To us, it really doesn’t matter if they are referred to as English Cream, English Retriever, Golden or Light Golden Retriever, as long as each animal is truly loved, and is ALWAYS treated with kindness by everyone they encounter.
